Concerns against adults

In rare cases, a situation may come forward where a concern is raised against an adult or member of staff within the academy. If this is the case, the following protocol is followed:

If the allegation is about…

Go to…

The CEO

The governing body

The Principal

Paul Smith, CEO

A member of staff

Tony Oulton, Acting Principal

A student

Sara Poolman, DSL

In order to manage allegations against professionals, every Local Authority appoints a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO). The LADO works within Children’s Services and should be alerted to all cases in which it is alleged that a person who works with children has:

  • behaved in a way that has harmed, or may have harmed, a child.
  • possibly committed a criminal offence against children, or related to a child.
  • behaved towards a child or children in a way that indicates s/he may pose a risk to children.

In cases where the LADO would need to be consulted, the Designated Safeguarding Lead (Sara Poolman) would contact the LADO directly to discuss the concern in detail. This would involve contacting:

Contact Name: Duty Child Protection Adviser

Telephone: 0207 641 7668

Email:  LADO@westminster.gov.uk

In cases where the Duty Child Protection Adviser is not available, the Tri-Borough Safer Organisations Manager will be contacted.

Contact Name: Kembra Healy

Telephone: 0208 753 5125

Email: kembra.healy@lbhf.gov.uk
